The Parks Division provides, develops and maintains a system of parks for public use and enjoyment.

Parks is charged with ensuring all park facilities and grounds are attractive, healthy, safe and full of leisure and recreation opportunities. 

The Parks Division, with a parks system dating back to 1903, provides for the maintenance and care of:

  • More than six miles of trails.
  • More than 10 miles of river frontage.
  • More than 375 acres of developed park and open space.
  • A 33-acre municipal golf course.
  • An international water lily collection.
  • 10 botanical and garden areas.
  • 25 playgrounds, including Unidad and Kids Kingdom.
  • 25 sports practice fields.
  • 27 picnic areas with more than 200 picnic tables.

San Angelo is a wonderful place to live, and it is the duty of the Parks Division to help keep it that way. 

Reserve a facility

Basic park pavilions rental information:

  • $20.00 an hour with a two hour minimum time frame to a four hour maximum time frame. 
  • Wedding venues (Lily Pond pavilion, J M Rogers Garden Gazebo, Tiered Plaza, Visitor Center) locations are $60.00 an hour with a 2 hour maximum time frame. Please see details when making online reservations. 

Reservation(s) can be made at cosatx.us/civicrec. 

Reservation(s) must be canceled at least 48 hours prior to the event to receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the reservation will not receive a refund. In the event of a rainout, reservation(s) can be rescheduled or refunded if you contact the Parks & Recreation office on the next business day after your reservation.
